Julien Alfred was born and raised in Saint Lucia, a small island nation in the Caribbean. From a young age, Alfred displayed a natural talent for running, often excelling in local competitions. Alfred moved to the United States to further her education and athletic career. She attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she competed for the Texas Longhorns from 2018 to 2023. During her time with the Longhorns, Alfred was an 11-time USTFCCCA All-America selection and was named the 2022-23 Big 12 Female Athlete of the Year. Her college career was marked by significant improvements in her performance, setting the stage for her future success on the international stage.
