Born on 19th July 1989 in Brazil, Tatiane Raquel da Silva began her athletic journey at a young age, drawn to the tracks as a steeplechase and middle-distance runner. Her early years were marked by a raw talent that rapidly transformed into a refined skill set, thanks to her diligent training and resolve.
Over the years, da Silva has emerged as a force to be reckoned with on the international running scene. She represented Brazil in the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, where she won a silver medal in the 3000m steeplechase event. This victory was not only a personal achievement but also a historic moment as she became the first Brazilian woman to win a medal in this category at the Pan American Games.
Da Silva's personal bests are equally impressive. She holds the South American record in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:41.57, a record she set at the 2018 Ibero-American Championships in Trujillo. This achievement yet again underscored her prowess and established her as one of the leading athletes in South America.
She faced her fair share of failures and disappointments, including a heartbreaking disqualification in the 2017 World Championships due to a hurdle infringement. But like a true champion, she used these setbacks as stepping stones, learning from her failures and coming back stronger.
Tatiane Raquel da Silva's personal best in the 3000-meter steeplechase is 9:24.38.
