Rhasidat Adeleke (pronounced rÉ™-SHEE-dÉ™) is a young and dominant Irish sprinter. Born on August 29, 2002, in Dublin, Ireland, she's currently 21 years old (as of July 2024).Adeleke holds the title for seven individual Irish national records. This includes both indoor and outdoor events: 60m, 100m, 200m, 300m, and 400m (both indoor and outdoor). She's also contributed to setting two additional national records as part of relay teams: the women's 4x400 meters relay and the mixed 4x400 meters relay.
She secured a gold medal in the 100m and 200m at the 2021 European Athletics U20 Adeleke has reached the podium at major international competitions, including a silver medal at the World U20 Championships. Additionally, she made it to the top eight at the World Championships.Born in Ireland to Nigerian parents, Adeleke represents her Irish heritage on the track. She attends the prestigious University of Texas on a track scholarship.Adeleke is the first member of her family to pursue higher education in the United States.
